localads.ie uses essential storage for accounts and consent choices. Optional marketplace analytics, advertising measurement and external maps remain off until you choose them.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by a browser. Similar browser storage can keep limited information needed for a website to function. Some technologies are essential to provide a requested service, while optional technologies require a separate legal basis and, where required, consent.

2. Essential authentication and security

Supabase authentication uses essential session information to keep you signed in, refresh your session and protect account access. localads_consent stores your optional-service choices, policy version, decision time and a random receipt identifier for up to 180 days. Essential storage is necessary to provide account, security, listing, favourite, messaging and consent-management features and cannot be disabled through the preference panel.

3. Marketplace analytics

If you allow Marketplace analytics, we measure page views, searches, listing impressions, listing views and contact actions. Short-lived pseudonymous visitor and session identifiers are created using session storage and one-way hashes. Session storage is removed when the browser session ends. Event records are used for marketplace operations, seller performance reporting and aggregate service analysis. Analytics requests are rejected by the server unless the current consent cookie permits them.

4. Advertising

If you allow Advertising, we may measure impressions and clicks for clearly labelled direct or house advertising. Google AdSense will remain disabled until an AdSense client, placement identifiers and a Google-certified Consent Management Platform are configured. Google may then use cookies, local storage, IP addresses and device information under the choices collected through its certified CMP. A current production vendor list and durations must be added here before activation.

5. External maps

If you allow External maps, property map views load map styles and tiles from MapTiler. MapTiler receives technical request data including your IP address, browser information and the requested map resources. The public MapTiler key must be restricted to approved localads.ie origins. Exact private residential coordinates are not sent to public pages.

6. Consent records and duration

Each choice creates a consent receipt containing a random receipt identifier, policy version, timestamp, selected categories and action. We do not intentionally add your name, email address, IP address or browser fingerprint to that receipt. Consent receipts are retained for up to 24 months so we can demonstrate and administer your choices. A separate one-way request hash is retained for up to two hours solely to protect the consent endpoint from automated abuse.

7. Change or withdraw your choice

Use the Cookie settings button visible on every page to change or withdraw optional consent at any time. Reject optional is available on the first layer and rejecting does not prevent use of the core marketplace. Withdrawal stops future optional requests and reloads the page when needed to remove active optional services. You can also remove cookies through browser settings, although deleting essential authentication storage will sign you out.

8. Changes and contact

We will update this policy and request a new choice when the policy version or optional providers materially change. Questions can be sent to privacy@localads.ie. Configurix Limited, company number 808025, is responsible for this policy. Production activation remains subject to an Irish professional legal review and a production cookie scan.

Your privacy choices

Essential cookies keep accounts and security working. With your permission, we also use marketplace analytics, advertising measurement and external MapTiler maps. Rejecting optional services does not limit the core marketplace.
